Brno University of Technology

Brno University of Technology (in Czech Vysoké učení technické v Brně), being founded in 1899 and initially offering a single course in civil engineering, it grew to become one of the major Czech universities with 8 faculties and 2 university institutes. It is aiming on technical, economical and art sciences, both on the educational and research level. A major part of applied research is initiated directly by industrial companies both domestic and international.

Charles University in Prague

Charles University in Prague (in Czech – Karlova univerzita) is the 19th Oldest University in the World and was founded by Charles IV, the Czech King and Roman Emperor, on 7 April, 1348. From the very beginning, Charles University was characterized as a “studium generale” and nowadays contains 17 faculties, 3 collegiate institutes, and other additional establishments for educational, scientific, research and developmental activities.

Czech Technical University in Prague

Czech Technical University in Prague (in Czech – České Vysoké Učení Technické v Praze) is the oldest non-military technical university in Europe, established in 1707 by the emperor Joseph I. The University’s long tradition of cutting-edge science and engineering, together with high-quality technical education, ensues from the work of many great personalities. It has 7 faculties and 3 research institutes, covering a total of 14 bachelors, 23 master, and 15 Ph.D. programs.

Czech University of Life Sciences Prague

Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (in Czech – Česká zemědělská univerzita v Praze) was established in 1906, i.e. with a history of more than hundred years. Its research focuses on agriculture, tropical agriculture, forestry, tropical forestry, ecology, nature conservation, technology, waste management, agricultural economics, business administration, and corporate management, participating in many scientific projects in Asia, Africa, and South America. It has 6 faculties and 1 research institute, covering a total of 9 bachelors, 20 master and 18 Ph.D programs in English.

Masaryk University in Brno

Masaryk University in Prague (in Czech – Masarykova univerzita v Brně) was established in 1919. Today, the university has 10 faculties with 400 study programmes and 30 500 students. In 2014, a centre of research excellence, CEITEC MU, was founded.

Membrain Research Center

MemBrain Research Centre at Stráž pod Ralskem is a research, engineering-technological centre, focusing primarily on the basic and applied research and other innovative activities in the field of membrane processes. Primary objective is to transfer result of academic research into industrial practice. The main branches of business are membrane separation processes, including necessary pre-treatment.

Metropolitan University Prague

Metropolitan University Prague (in Czech – Metropolitní univerzita Praha), established in 2001, ranks among the oldest and largest private universities in the Czech Republic. The university offers study programmes in the area of the humanities, international territorial studies, legal specialisations, media and communication studies, and international economic relations.

Palacký University Olomouc

Palacký University Olomouc (in Czech – Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci) is a university with long-standing tradition. Founded in the 16th century, it is the oldest university in Moravia and the second-oldest university in the Czech Republic. Today it is a modern higher education facility offering 332 Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral study programmes and copious scientific and research activities. Almost 22 000 students are enrolled at its 8 faculties.

Technical University in Liberec

Technical University of Liberec (in Czech – Technická univerzita v Liberci) is located in the north part of the Czech Republic, close to the German borders. It has a long-time tradition of research in close cooperation especially with the textile, mechanical, automotive and related industries. Also, considering its geographical position, it frequently engages in cross-border projects. The university nowadays has 6 faculties and one specialized institute dealing with nanomaterials, advanced technologies and innovation.

University of Economics in Prague

University of Economics in Prague (in Czech – Vysoká škola ekonomická) is the biggest public economical university in the Czech Republic, founded in the year 1953. Nowadays it is dividend in 6 faculties covering wide range of studies and research. The university is well recognized both within the Czech Republic and abroad. It also has very strong binds with big national and international companies, successfully merging academical sphere with business.

University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice

University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (in Czech – Jihočeská Univerzita v Českých Budějovicích) is an educational and research institution specializing on natural, humanist and social sciences. The university was founded in 1991 and originally consisted of two faculties (the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Economics). Nowadays the university has 8 faculties and more then 200 bachelor, masters and doctoral programmes.  Also it has become a major research and development centre in south Bohemia.

University of West Bohemia in Pilsen

University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (in Czech – Západočeská univerzita) is the biggest Czech university west of Prague. It has very strong tradition especially in the field of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, which is based on the historical focus of Pilsen city on technology. It shelters 9 faculties and one independent research centre dealing with modern technologies.
